How to Download E-Aadhar Card

3:35 am by Hernan Edwards

Introduction:  An Aadhaar Card issued to an Indian citizen contains a 12 digit unique identification and also has records of the card holder’s biometric and demographic information. The Aadhaar Project is being carried out by UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) in India.

The Aadhar card serves many purposes and is used for proof of identity, proof of address as well as proof of age when applying for any government services.  It is an essential document when it comes to KYC, verification, and identification purposes.  As such it can be used for the acquisition of passport, opening a bank account, obtain a digital life certificate for retired people seeking pension, disburse provident fund, LPG subsidy, and avail benefits of the Jan Dhan Yojna.

How to Download Aadhar Card Online:  The Aadhar card can easily be obtained online.

Step 1:  Download your Aadhaar Card online at the following web-link:  https://eaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/.

Step 2:  In ‘Your Personal Details’ section, select the relevant option amongst these two ‘I have ‘Enrolment ID’/‘Aadhaar’’.  Select the option of the detail you have.  You can find your Enrolment ID along with the Date Stamp in the acknowledgment slip you received when you registered for Aadhaar.  Another option is that of Aadhaar where you have to fill the Aadhaar number you received.

  • If you select ‘Enrolment ID’, you will have to fill in your 14 digit Enrolment number with a date stamp in the first row.
  • However, if you select ‘Aadhaar,’ you will have to fill in your 12 digit Aadhaar number.

First, fill in your Full Name (as mentioned in the Aadhar card).

Then, the PIN Code of the postal address (as mentioned in the Aadhar card) should be entered.

Next, the Image text relevant to the image should be entered, which is displayed a row above.

Enter your mobile number (as mentioned in the Aadhar card).

Then click on ‘Get One Time Password’.  You will receive a One Time Password on your registered mobile number.

Step 3:  ‘Enter OTP Received on your registered mobile number.  Once that is done, click on “Validate and Download” tab.

Then, a PDF file will appear for download.  That is your E-Aadhaar, which is password protected.

The Aadhar PDF password is 8 characters, which is a combination of the first four letters of your name written in capital letters (name as mentioned in the Aadhaar card) and your year of birth (in YYYY format).

Step 4:  There are 2 ways to open the Aadhaar Card PDF.  One is by entering the PIN Code of the postal address (as mentioned in the Aadhar card).  The second Aadhar PDF password for your Aadhaar card PDF file is a combination of the first four letters of your name written in capitals and your Year of Birth in YYYY format.

After opening the E-Aadhaar file through its password, you can print your E-Aadhaar too.  Aadhar card download by name and date of birth can also be done.
